Shannon Wickline is a versatile pianist, keyboardist, composer, and producer based in southwestern Virginia. With over 34 years in the music industry, he has built a multifaceted career that spans live performance, studio work, and music production. 

 

Born into a musical family, Shannon began his musical journey at the age of 4 on the drums. After years of honing his chops in church, he began experimenting with his mother’s piano and teaching himself to play from a basic chord book. By 15, he was performing in cover bands and writing and recording his own music. His early exposure to various instruments and recording equipment laid the foundation for his diverse musical endeavors.  

 

Shannon’s professional touring career includes a notable tenure as the keyboardist for the Charlie Daniels Band from late 2011 until the band’s final performance in March 2020. During this time, he contributed to the band’s dynamic sound and performed on stages across the country. Other artists and bands Shannon has worked with include The Bellamy Brothers, Kid Rock, Marshall Tucker, Travis Tritt & more. 

 

In addition to his performance career, Shannon is an accomplished composer and producer. He has contributed to film and television projects, including “Songbirds” (2022), “Life Changes Everything: Discover Zac Ryan” (2017), and “94 Feet” (2016), “Hell On Wheels” (2013) where he served as a composer and musician.  

 

The Artimus Pyle Band, led by Artimus Pyle, the last surviving member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, proudly welcomed the accomplished keyboardist to its lineup in June 2025. A dynamic and seasoned musician, Wickline brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and Southern soul to the stage, perfectly complementing the band’s mission to honor and celebrate the music and legacy of Ronnie Van Zant’s Lynyrd Skynyrd.

 

Shannon Wickline continues to be a dynamic force in the music industry. His deep understanding of song structure, arrangement, and studio dynamics, has made him a trusted collaborator for a range of talented songwriters.
