Shannon Wickline is a pianist, keyboardist, producer, and songwriter whose versatility and distinctive musical voice have earned him a place among today’s most sought-after roots, country, Southern rock, and Americana musicians.
Born into a musical family, Shannon began his musical journey at the age of 4 on the drums. After years of honing his chops in church, he began experimenting with his mother’s piano and teaching himself to play from a basic chord book. By 15, he was performing in cover bands and writing and recording his own music. His early exposure to various instruments and recording equipment laid the foundation for his diverse musical endeavors.
Shannon’s professional touring career includes a notable tenure as the keyboardist for the Charlie Daniels Band from late 2011 until the band’s final performance in March 2020. During this time, he contributed to the band’s dynamic sound and performed on stages across the country. Other artists and bands Shannon has worked with include The Bellamy Brothers, Kid Rock, Marshall Tucker, Travis Tritt & more.
In addition to his performance career, Shannon is an accomplished composer and producer. He has contributed to film and television projects, including “Songbirds” (2022), “Life Changes Everything: Discover Zac Ryan” (2017), and “94 Feet” (2016), “Hell On Wheels” (2013) where he served as a composer and musician.
The Artimus Pyle Band, led by Artimus Pyle, the last surviving member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, proudly welcomed the accomplished keyboardist to its lineup in June 2025. A dynamic and seasoned musician, Wickline brings a wealth of experience, creativity, and Southern soul to the stage, perfectly complementing the band’s mission to honor and celebrate the music and legacy of Ronnie Van Zant’s Lynyrd Skynyrd.
In the spring of 2026, Shannon concluded his run with the Artimus Pyle Band. Shortly after leaving the APB, Shannon received an interesting phone call. He was invited to step into a new, yet very familiar role as the keyboardist for the Legend of Charlie Daniels—an immersive, high-definition, lifelike holographic experience celebrating the music, legacy, and larger-than-life presence of country music icon Charlie Daniels. Combining live musicianship with cutting-edge visual technology, the production brings the Charlie Daniels experience to audiences in an entirely new and innovative way.
In addition to his work on the road, Shannon continues to build an impressive career behind the scenes as a producer, co-producer, songwriter, and studio musician. Currently based in Southwestern Virginia, Shannon maintains an active recording and production operation while continuing to collaborate with musicians locally and across the country. Whether performing live, crafting arrangements in the studio, co-writing songs, or helping artists bring their creative vision to life, Shannon continues to establish himself as a dynamic and multifaceted force in the modern music industry. His deep understanding of song structure, arrangement, and studio dynamics, has made him a trusted collaborator for a range of talented songwriters for more than 3 decades. His production work has supported the careers of artists across multiple genres, including one Virginia songwriter whose catalog boasts numerous 2023 and 2024 Top 10 and Top 5 hits, as well as several #1 singles on domestic and international charts. With a keen ear for commercial appeal and a commitment to artistic integrity, Shannon brings both technical expertise and creative vision to every project he undertakes, helping artists craft songs that resonate with audiences that he hopes will stand the test of time.
